The Way of spiritual direction

All Journey Center’s are formed around and grow from the same 7 Core Values established by the first Journey Center in 2007:

The Way of Hospitality,

The Way of Spiritual Direction,

The Contemplative Way,

The Way of Silence and Solitude,

The Way of Discernment in Community,

The Way of Mission,

and The Way of Love.

In previous Happenings, I have written about some of the ways that Journey Center of Michigan is living out The Contemplative Way, The Way of Discernment in Community, and The Way of Mission.

You can take a moment to read a bit more about our formation story by clicking the articles.

I am excited to share with you the latest on what God has been forming within us about The Way of Spiritual Direction.

Everything we do at the Journey Center is rooted in spiritual direction- listening to each person’s unique story and together “sifting for the gold” of God’s presence and love being revealed to them. – Journey Center’s Core Value of The Way of Spiritual Direction

Spiritual Direction is in the DNA of each Journey Center. Spiritual directors (or companions) offer the gift of presence, holy listening, teaching, accompanying, and guiding on our shared spiritual journey. JCMI’s spiritual directors add flesh and breath to our framework and bring life to what we do and who we are.

Journey Center of Michigan is also a gathering place for spiritual directors to find a spiritual home themselves; a place where they can find community as well as share and express their gifts outside of traditional spaces.

We are excited to introduce JCMI’s Tapestry of Spiritual Directors.

These spiritual directors will be a part of what we offer. They will share their voices in Reflections blog posts; lead some of our contemplative offerings; or simply be behind the scenes to keep us anchored as we listen to God’s Spirit.

We currently have a core of 5 spiritual directors (click the link to meet them). There are additional spiritual companions connected to JCMI whom you will see adding their voices and sharing their gifts as well
