John Sullivan-Knoff grew up in Detroit and when he was 12 years of age joined the white flight to the suburbs. After studying urban ministry in seminary, he worked in local government and nonprofit organizations throughout his career. He is married to Eva and they have two grown children, Andrew (and his spouse Anh) and Bea.
