World Labyrinth Day

Saturday, May 2nd is World Labyrinth Day and we are invited to join others across the globe to Walk as One. On this 18th annual World Labyrinth Day (WLD), as in previous years, many will walk a labyrinth, creating a unified rolling wave of peace passing from one time zone to the next around the globe.
Labyrinths are ancient, unicursal (single-path) tools used for over 4,000 years for meditation, spiritual pilgrimage, and transformation. Unlike mazes designed to confuse, labyrinths offer a calming, winding path to a center point, aiding in stress reduction, self-reflection, prayer, and enhancing creativity.
Journey Center Great Lakes is hosting a May 2nd Labyrinth walk at two locations:
Jennifer Andersson will host a group in the greater Detroit area at 1:00 pm EST at the labyrinth on the front lawn of Plymouth First United Methodist Church in Plymouth, MI – 45201 N. Territorial Rd, Plymouth, MI Please RSVP to jennifer@journeycentergreatlakes.org so she can anticipate your presence.
Kitchie Baaken will host a group at 7:00 pm CST at the outdoor prayer labyrinth at the Benedictine Sisters of Chicago, located on the grounds of St. Scholastica Monastery, 7430 N. Ridge Blvd, Chicago. The Benedictine Sisters will be providing candles for a candlelit labyrinth walk at dusk.
