A Lenten Walk with Jesus Through Art
Works of visual art — paintings, drawings, sculptures, photography — can be illuminating as well as beautiful. Visual art can stir our soul in ways that others forms of prayer might not, and connect us to the Holy in a new way.
Whether you gather with a group, or explore an art museum on your own, consider taking a walk with Jesus this Lenten season through art.
There will be JCGL sponsored group gatherings both in Detroit and in Chicago. You are also free to gather a group of your own and visit the DIA , Chicago Institute of Art, or your own local museum. You may also want to have the experience in solitude, with just yourself and the Spirit. Whatever you choose, we have a walking guide available for you to use as you walk with Jesus Through Art during the Lenten season.
Saturday, March 14th at Detroit Institute of Art (DIA) facilitated by Jennifer Andersson – 10:00 am – 12:00 pm EST
and
Friday, April 3rd (Good Friday) at Chicago Institute of Art, facilitated by Renee Roeschley – 11:00 am – 1:00 pm CST

Any cost associated with these gatherings are related to travel costs and possible entrance fees for the museums. The DIA is free for those who are residents of Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb counties in the Detroit area.
